Anton D. Voit was born in Germany in 1882 and emigrated to the US in 1913. He worked for Carl Fischer in Chicago in 1915, with Rudolph Wurlitzer from 1916-1920, and William Lewis from 1920-1923. In 1923, Voit established his Chicago shop with Leroy Geiger and he died in 1952.

Leroy F. Geiger, born in 1900, started making violins in Grinnel, Iowa and then worked for Carl G. Becker from 1919-1924 at William Lewis & Son.
