Description:
This petite (3/4) French violin has a sound that is warm, refined, and round, with a rich lower end and a sweetly singing treble end.
It does not contain an interior label.
The back of this violin is formed from two pieces of quarter-cut maple, marked by medium-width flame, which slants downward from the center joint. The wood on the ribs and scroll is similar to that of the back. The grain of the two-piece spruce top is slightly wavy, narrow, and even. The spruce is marked by charismatic bearclaw figuring, and handsome natural antiquing.
The instrument is covered with a warm golden-brown varnish, over a pale brown ground. This instrument is in excellent condition.
