This 4/4 Otto violin has a sound that is responsive, textured, even, and bright.
It bears a printed interior label that reads:

The back of this violin is formed from two pieces of quarter-cut maple, marked by narrow-width flame, which slants upward from the center joint. The wood on the ribs and scroll is similar to that of the back. The grain of the two-piece spruce top is straight, narrow, and even.
The instrument is covered with a dark, reddish-brown varnish, over a warm brown ground. The varnish is antiqued and shaded by the maker. This instrument is in excellent condition.
