This instrument is part of our 7th annual Contemporary American Makers Exhibition, 2024

Since 2007, Mason been immersed in the world of stringed instruments, specializing in both making and restoring. In 2011, he became part of the Givens Violins workshop in Minneapolis, collaborating with some of the industry's highly regarded makers and restorers.

In 2018, he joined Robertson and Son’s Violin Shop in Albuquerque, taking on the role of maker and restorer. Here, he had the privilege of working alongside exceptional makers and musicians and being entrusted with the maintenance and restoration of truly invaluable instruments.

In 2023, he established his own workshop in southeast Minnesota, with a primary focus on crafting new instruments.

Mason has won multiple awards from various international making competitions, including 2 silver medals for bass workmanship and certificates of merit for violin workmanship and viola tone.
