Martin Gabbani was born in Buenos Aires in 1981. He studied violin at the “Astor Piazzolla” National Music Conservatory. In 2003, he enrolled at the “El Virutero” violinmaking school.

In 2008, he obtained a scholarship from the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Buenos Aires to study at the I.P.I.A.L.L. “A. Stradivari” Cremona. During these years, Martin studied construction under the guidance of Giorgio Scolari and Massimo Negroni; and restoration with Alessandro Voltini and Claudio Amighetti. He graduated with honors and obtained the Diploma di Maestro Liutaio. Martin also studied construction with Gianluca Zanetti and restoration with Horacio Piñeiro, the prestigious New York violinmaker.

Nowadays, Martin works in his own workshop in the historical center of Cremona and he is inspired by the classical models of the Cremonese school. He also specilizes in Baroque instruments, such as viola da gamba.

Awards: Violin Gold Medal and Viola Golden Medal at 18th Concorso Internazionale di Liuteria ANLAI Sesto Fiorentino 2017. Cello Silver Medal at 10th Concorso Nazionale Strumenti ad Arco ANLAI Milano 2016
