Joseph Liu is a violin and bow maker now based in Kansas City. A graduate of the Chicago School of Violin Making, he worked for Hans Weisshaar and Thomas Metzler for many years before relocating to the Midwest.
Each instrument and bow made by Joseph is unique in style and aesthetics--no two are alike! This bow features a beautiful pernambuco stick, with Mokume Gane mountings, a Japanese term for "wood-grain metal". This folded/layered laminate of silver and copper will tarnish beautifully, and stands out among the understated elegance of the rest of the bow.
With a buttery smooth feel and a suppleness reminiscent of a fine old French stick, this bow draws a rich, round tone from any violin. 61.8 grams
