This fiery red violin was made by the French master violin maker Joseph Hel for his dear friend, artist Alphonse Jules Debaene, whose name appears in the dedication on the label.  Debaene Painted a wonderful portrait of Joseph Hel which hangs to this day in the Musee de l'Hospice Comtesse, Lille, but which can also be viewed here.  This rare violin is in excellent condition, and has been certified by the well-known French expert, Bernard Millant.  This violin would be treasured by soloists and collectors alike.  It is branded on the lower ribs above the button, bears the original label, and has been signed numbered and dated internally.
