Joseph Dziaba's lifelong passion for violin making began at an early age under the influence of his father, a passionate violinist. Inspired by this early exposure, he delved into the art of crafting violins, learning woodworking skills from his father, a master harp maker for Lyon & Healy in Chicago.
In 1993, Joseph embarked on his personal journey to become a violin maker, driven by a deep desire to create instruments that produce beautiful music. With guidance from mentors and a wealth of insights from violin periodicals and violin books, being a member of various violin associations he honed his craft through trial and error.
An instrumental moment in Joseph's career came when he met Bronek Cison, a prominent figure in the world of violin making, who became an invaluable mentor, helping Joseph reach new heights in his craft. Collaborations with Sofia Vettori further enriched his skills.
Joseph specializes in crafting violins inspired by Guarneri del Gesù, sourcing aged wood from Europe to ensure top-notch quality. His dedication to using the finest materials reflects his unwavering commitment to excellence.
With a background in engineering, Joseph seamlessly transitioned into the meticulous work required for violin making. Each of his creations is a blend of tradition, expertise, and artistic sensibilities, contributing to the rich tapestry of musical expression. Joseph is grateful for the opportunity to share his creations, adding to the world's musical beauty.
