Jeffrey Muller 2016 Los Angeles
Resonant, warm, colorful
Jeff Muller is a renowned luthier, making and repairing stringed instruments and bows in Los Angeles for the past 15 years. His fine work is sought by performing musicians from Los Angeles and all over the world. In 1997, Jeffrey established the Angeles Violin Shop where he makes and repairs violin, viola, cellos, and bows. He has been recognized for his work by Certificate of Merit for Tone by the Violin Society of America. Muller makes beautiful instruments in the Cremonese tradition. His violins have been characterized to possess the deep sophisticated tone, projection, and ease of play that concert soloists seek.
This violin has a lovely back of one piece of quarter-cut maple. The wood has beautiful and straight medium-narrow flame. The black outlining of the scroll, the delicate carving of the F-holes, and the ivory nut are thoughtful touches that give the instrument individuality. The top is two pieces of spruce with narrow and even grain. The violin is covered with a reddish varnish, with tasteful shading to reveal a pale-golden ground.
The tone is resonant, warm, and colorful - the violin is very playable and adaptable to any style or player. The interior label reads: Jeffre Muller filius Albert fecit Los Angeles anno 2016, alongside a stamp from the maker.
The violin is in excellent condition.
