Great for orchestral or solo playing!
This violin was made in the workshop of Mathijs Heyligers.
Heyligers was born in Holland and moved to Italy in 1975 where he studied violin making in Cremona under Giorgio Cè. In 1977 he attended violin making school in Parma where he studied under Renato Scrollavezza and Pietro Sgarabotto. Heyligers studied violin at the conservatory of music in Parma with the Finnish violinist Satu Jalas, granddaughter of Jean Sibelius. He studied restoration under Gimpel Solomon and Bruce Carlson, and studied varnish with Geary Baese, Joe Robson and Raymond Schryer. Each of Heyligers’s instruments is made with the use of the antique methods of the traditional art of Cremonese violin making.
