Friedrich Karl "Fritz" Müller lived from 1905 to 1974, mostly in his home town of Graslitz. He started learning the craft of bow making at age 14, and became a full, recognized bow maker at age 23. His career was interrupted by the war, and he ended up being a prisoner of war in Russia. But in 1950 he opened his own bow making workshop with five employees, and in 1952 he moved his workshop and residence to Bubenreuth in Western Germany, where he remained for the rest of his life. He liked to adorn the adjusting button with small decorative pearl dots in each facet, as is the case with this bow.
