Enrico Orselli was born in Ferrara in 1891, and became an apprentice of Ettore Soffritti in the same city at a young age and remained there until 1923, assisting him with both repairs and making. In 1923 he moved to Pesaro, where he opened his own workshop, remaining active there until about 1950, and dying in 1955. This fine violin, made in 1949, is thus from his later active period. Orselli produced about 180 violins, 200 violas, 80 cellos, and 8 double basses.
