STAFF PICK: Wesley W. and Julia M. recommend this violin within its price range!

Our advanced-level limited series Emilia violin has a tone that is sweet, refined, and warm. Named for shop team member, Emily, who is an excellent opera singer, we chose her a namesake instrument that sings as sweetly as she does.

This instrument features beautifully antiqued varnish over a striking, single-piece flamed maple back. Emilia violins are fitted with ebony pegs, chinrest, and tailpiece. The interior “Pohutukawa Flower” label (emblematic of Emily’s home country, New Zealand) is designed for us by local LA artist, Mike Kelley.

As someone who has recently purchased this model violin. It's an excellent step up for any player serious or casual. The description says it tends to have a sound based on voice and it clearly shows. This violin is able to play harmonically in a group as well as come out to play solos when needed. For me this violin has had continued service in a University Symphonic Orchestra, a University Chamber orchestra, and String quartet. It has excelled in all facets and has allowed me to be competitive with violinists whose instruments are 6 to 7 times the price. My only regret with this violin is that I didn't buy two of them. Cause let me tell you, for the price, the physical beauty and sound of this violin might be unparalleled in this price range.
