This 4/4 Domenico Fantin violin has a very refined sound that is warm, slightly dark, smooth and round.
It bears an interior brand, and a printed interior label that reads:
VARESE – anno 2007
The back of this violin is formed from a single piece of quarter-cut maple, marked by very attractive, wide flames, which slant upward from the treble side. The wood on the ribs is similar to that of the back, while the wood of the scroll is more narrowly flamed. The grain of the two-piece spruce top is straight and medium-narrow, widening slightly toward the flanks.
The instrument is covered with a beautiful orange-brown varnish, over a warm golden-brown ground. It is antiqued and shaded by the maker. This instrument is in excellent condition.
