Together with Pierre Baillot and Rodolphe Kreutzer, Pierre Rode founded the important Franco-Belgian violin school at the end of the eighteenth century. While concentrating completely on studying technical phenomena, he created valuable compositions that recall Paganini's pieces of the same name.
