Martin Beilke was mostly self-taught, but is considered an important pioneer of American bow-making. He was a frequent visitor to the New York offices of Rembert Wurlitzer and Simeone Sacconi, from whom he received invaluable advice. This bow, numbered 197 from the early 1970s, is in practically uncirculated condition, and still has the original ivory head-plate and whalebone grip. After 50 years, it still is perfectly straight, and has maintained excellent camber.
