Barbara Piccinotti was born in Brescia in 1975. She grew up in a family of furniture restorers and learned wood carving from her father, brother, and uncle. Barbara attended the International School of Violin Maker "Antonio Stradivari" in Cremona and graduated in 1993 under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Scolari. After school, she spent many years training in Stefano Trabucchi’s workshop. In 1999, she opened her own workshop in Cremona. Barbara has sold instruments to musicians from Japan to the U.S. as well as in Europe.
“Barbara Piccinotti makes violins, violas, and cellos following classical Cremonese models and personal models with very high quality varnish, modern and antique look, and particular attention to the choice of selected wood and nice quality set-up plus sound adjustments.”

The varnish is a golden, honey color. The violin has a one-piece back with luminous figure slanting towards the bass side. The tone is beautiful, powerful, and clear. This violin would be great for orchestral playing!
