Amati Mangenot (Bordeaux , b1901 - d1966)
The youngest son of Paul Alexandre Mangenot, he learnt his craft first with his father in his workshop. His father Paul was a pupil of Paul Bailly, he then worked for Joseph Hel in Lille, Collin Mézin in Paris, as well as in Lyon and Geneva. He took over from Justin Derazey and moved to Mirecourt in 1890. He sold his name to the firm Laberte in 1928, as well as all the brands resulting from the takeover of Derazey. Amati Mangenot subsequently left to join Albert Laurent in Brussels and his brother, Emile Laurent, in Bordeaux. He then settled for a short time his own workshop in Clermont Ferrand, before taking over in 1925, Emile Laurent's workshop in Bordeaux. His production, always of good quality, is including both instruments made after his personal model and instruments made in a spirit copy.
