This 4/4 Sofia violin has a sound that is rich and resonant on the lower end, and sweetly singing on the upper end. It is very responsive, making it easy to play.
It bears a printed interior label that reads:

The back of this violin is formed from two pieces of plain, unflamed, quarter-cut maple. The wood on the ribs and scroll is marked by medium-narrow width flame. The grain of the two-piece spruce top is mostly straight and narrow, widening slightly as it moves outward from the center joint.
The instrument is covered with a reddish-brown varnish, over a warm brown ground. It is lightly antiqued and shaded by the maker. This instrument is in excellent condition.
