Notes from the maker:
I'm a luthier up in Canada, trained through the Violin Making School of America (2011-2015). After working in a busy shop in Wisconsin for 3 years I was lucky enough to be able to start Kotlarz Violins in BC where I currently serve my community for basic repairs and maintenance. In between customers I focus on making new violins and violas.
This violin was created in 2019 and won awards for craftsmanship and merit at the 2019 BC Violin Maker's Competition and Exhibition. It is a decorative violin with a unique rose patterned inlay that I designed and carved around the ribs and scroll. Body length: 357mm, loosely based on the Viotti outlines and measurements. Finished cleanly with a clear red-orange oil varnish. It has a sweet and well-balanced sound.
