A student of Ettore Soffritti, Ernesto Pevere (1891 – 1963) followed his teacher's work closely, even labeling some of his instruments with his teacher's name. His considerable output, which ranges in quality of materials and workmanship from ordinary to exceptional, is mostly based on Stradivari, Guarneri, and Guadagnini. Though he worked in Ferrara until his death in 1963, Pevere sold many of his instruments in Turin and abroad.
