Raphael Le Cointe Violin, Cremona 2003
Le Cointe was born in Lorient (France) in 1973. At the age of 19, he moved to Italy to learn violin-making at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria of Milan with Nadia Mantovani. After graduation he worked in Paris with Pierre Barthel and Guy Coquoz and in New York with Bruce Dupin de Saint-Cyr. From 1998 to 2005 Le Cointe worked with Mathijs Heyligers in Cremona, Italy. Le Cointe estabished his own workshop in 2005 where he mainly makes new instruments, inspired by the great Cremonese School of the classical period.
