Marco Raposo Pernambuco viola bow with ebony, silver-mounted frog
Brazilian born, Marco Raposo studied bow making at the university of New Hampshire, in the United States, and decided to establish his workshop in the high mountains of Brazil's Atlantic Forest, in the village of Domingos Martins - ES, home of the precious Pernambuco wood - Pau-Brasil.
"Marco Raposo Bows", established in 1995, manufactures the finest quality bows for violin, viola, cello and bass, for professionals and advanced students. Their goal is to assure quality to their customers and protect the environment.
The company operates a sizable production facility and manages a large neighboring area of forested land, which will eventually serve as a perpetual resource for the enterprise.
